CAMPER NICHOLSON 45 -
WETHERLEY

Lovingly built in  1972, Gosport, England, by Camper and Nicholson, Wetherley, is hull number 6 of 8 in this timeless design, she has been cherished throughout the decades by owners who have meticulously maintained her condition. Having surveyed exceptionally well last month, Wetherley stands as a beautiful example of a well-loved, reliable vessel—ready to take her next owners on new adventures.

Her layout features three comfortable cabins, a secure starboard-side galley built for ocean crossings, a proper navigation station, and ample storage throughout. The solid encapsulated keel ensures smooth sailing, while inspection hatches provide easy access to water tanks. Her 40hp Nanni engine (installed in 2008) delivers reliable power with smooth hydraulic transmission, and modern pulleys and rigging seamlessly complement her classic build.

Purchased by her current owners in 1988, Wetherley has been thoughtfully upgraded over the years. In 1991, she was sailed from the Mediterranean to New Zealand, where she arrived in 1992 and has remained ever since. A significant refit between 2006 and 2009 included new electrics, plumbing, teak decks, upholstery, and fresh paint. The hull was epoxied and antifouled, with every detail attended to with care. The Lewmar windlass, installed in 2009, was recently serviced in 2023, ensuring smooth operation. Her teak decks are in beautiful condition, and the rigging and sails have been meticulously maintained, ready for both racing and cruising.

In 2019, Wetherley embarked on a five-month cruise to Vanuatu and New Caledonia, demonstrating her seaworthiness and performance. She is currently moored at Tapu Point in the Bay of Islands, surveyed exceptionally well, and was recently antifouled, ensuring she is ready for her new owners to embark on their own journey.
