From building canvas canoes out of wooden bicycle rims as an eight-year-old, to building a 50ft yacht from a half model in the back yard, Jan has either seen or done it all, including numerous coastal deliveries around New Zealand and volunteering as active Coastguard search crew/rescue board membership for over 10 years.
